Equipmax is a peer-to-peer rental platform that connects individuals and businesses to rent out or monetize underutilized equipment and everyday goods.

Q2: Who can use Equipmax?
Anyone over 18 years old in South Africa with valid identification and proof of address. Businesses registered with CIPC can also participate.

Q3: How does Equipmax ensure safety?
All users go through FICA verification (ID, proof of address) and live facial recognition. Suspicious activity is monitored, and criminal conduct can be reported.

2. Registration & Verification

Q4: How do I sign up?
Download the Equipmax app (Google Play / App Store soon) or visit www.equipmax.africa. Submit FICA docs and complete verification.

Q5: Can companies register?
Yes. Businesses must upload CIPC docs, tax number, director details, and proof of address.

Q6: How long does verification take?
Usually 24–48 hours depending on document submission.

3. Listings (For Owners)

Q7: What items can I list?
Almost anything legal and in good working condition, e.g. tools, electronics, furniture, event gear, sports equipment, etc.

Q8: How do I create a listing?
Add product name, description, dimensions, location, daily price, and upload images.

Q9: Who sets the rental price?
Owners set their own rental prices. Equipmax provides guidance.

Q10: Can I list multiple items?
Yes, you can list as many as you want under your verified profile.

4. Rentals (For Renters)

Q11: How do I rent an item?
Search, select rental duration, pay securely, and confirm booking.

Q12: What happens after payment?
Booking is secured, Equipmax arranges delivery & collection, insurance included.

Q13: What if the product I need isn’t listed?
Use the “Request a Product (RAP)” feature. Verified users get notified.

5. Payments & Wallet

Q14: How does payment work?
Rentals are paid securely in-app using cards or integrated methods.

Q15: How do owners get paid?
Earnings go to your Equipmax wallet. Withdraw anytime to bank.

Q16: Are there platform fees?
Yes. 5% service fee + 10% commission. Broker fees are 1.5%.

6. Insurance & Delivery

Q17: Are items insured?
Yes, through insurance partners against theft & damages.

Q18: Who handles delivery?
Equipmax coordinates with verified couriers.

Q19: What if an item is damaged?
Insurance covers applicable damages. Renters may be liable for misuse.

7. Ratings & Badges

Q20: How do ratings work?
After rentals, both parties rate each other to build trust.

8. Safety & Security

Q22: How does Equipmax prevent fraud?

Q23: Who is responsible for packaging?
Owners must package items securely. Equipmax not liable for damage during transit.
